What Is the Sitroom?#

The Cyber Situational Awareness Room (“sitroom”) is the primary facility for information sharing on election days. The sitroom, which uses the Adobe Connect platform, provides election offices a place to share and receive cyber threat information from each other, the ISACs, and federal partners.
The sitroom opens during the year for Statewide Elections, every November for the General Election (“election day”), and in response to a critical cybersecurity event impacting election infrastructure.
During Even-Year Elections, the sitoom will open at least two weeks before election day from 8am-8pm ET.
During the Odd-Year Elections, the sitroom will open at least one week before election day from 8am-8pm ET.
Beginning at 8pm ET on the Sunday before election day (for both years), the room moves to 24x7 operations. It will remain that way for at least 24 hours after the last polls have closed. CIS leadership will determine when to close the room, factoring in attendance and activity levels.
